60-year-old man injured, 35-year-old man dead after crash in Kankakee County

KANKAKEE COUNTY, IL – A 35-year-old man died after a two-vehicle crash occurred around 9:30 pm Friday. 

The collision occurred at Illinois Route 17 and 16000 East Road, WICS reported. 

The 35-year-old man declined to stop at a stop sign. As a result, he hit an empty tank trailer operated by a 60-year-old man. 

The 60-year-old man was identified as David W. Nagel. 

Nagel was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The 35-year-old man was identified as John E. Niles. 

Niles died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
