Cyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Chicago truck crash

CHICAGO, IL – A truck crash in the Jefferson Park district left a bicyclist with life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning, Nadig Newspapers reported.

The collision occurred around 7 am on Lawrence Avenue. The cyclist headed east on Lawrence Avenue, cycling through the red lights shortly after a truck driving north on Long Avenue collided with the cyclist.

The specifics of how the crash happened were unclear.

In addition, police did not reveal the identities of the truck driver and cyclist. The truck driver was not reported to be injured; however, the cyclist was hospitalized at Lutheran General Hospital.
