Narrative
A school bus carrying nine students with special needs and five adults was involved in a head-on crash with an SUV on Tuesday morning. The crash occurred in the Little Village neighborhood on 31st Street and Kedzie Avenue. Investigators say a man driving an SUV tried to pass a semitrailer that was also traveling south. The SUV then went into oncoming traffic and collided with the northbound bus. The driver of the SUV was cited for driving on a revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The driver of the bus and the other vehicle were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, while the students were taken to Stroger and Saint Anthony hospitals in good condition.
