DU QUOIN, IL – One person lost their life, and several people were taken to a hospital following a head-on collision on U.S. 51 Sunday.
This crash took place around 5 p.m. when a driver traveling south drifted off the lanes and into the northbound ones, striking the other car head-on. The person who passed away succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. Several others are being treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
