Narrative
GLENWOOD, IL – Emergency teams responded to a double-fatality motorcycle accident Friday night in southeast Cook County.
The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on the northbound side of IL-394 just north of Glenwood Dyer Road on the southeast side of Glenwood. This is about 34 miles south of Chicago.
Police say that a northbound motorcycle struck the rear of another motorcycle along the highway, killing the operator of the second bike at the scene. Authorities identified her as 24-year-old Sarah Gudeman.
The other motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Justin Fasnacht, died after transport to an area hospital.
Officials closed IL-394 for just over five hours while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
