Addieville woman dies in single-car crash in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL – A solo-car crash killed a 67-year-old woman on Illinois 15 Friday night, Belleville News-Democrat reported.

The woman was driving a GMC Canyon pickup truck west on Illinois 15. She failed to maintain control of the curves. Then the truck hit a ditch which made the vehicle flip over several times. The woman was thrown from her vehicle.

Washington County officials believe the main contributing factor in Friday’s crash was not wearing a seatbelt. The woman was identified as Darlene Eggemann of Addieville.

Eggemann was killed at the scene. Illinois State Police and the Washington County Coroner’s office investigate this case.
