MOUNT STERLING, IL – A 41-year-old woman died Saturday in a wrong-way collision along the highway in Mount Sterling.
The accident happened along US-24 near County Road 600 East, which is near DOT Foods Air Strip.
Police haven’t yet determined the cause of the crash, nor have they indicated which driver entered the wrong side of the highway.
One driver went to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries. A passenger from that same vehicle died at the scene. She’s not yet been identified.
Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with minor injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
