Narrative
GLENVIEW, IL – A two-vehicle crash in northern Cook County killed a 17-year-old high school student and injured three others on Monday.
The incident happened just after 11 p.m. on East Lake Avenue near Meadow Lane, which is just north of North Shore Country Club.
Police say that a westbound Ford Mustang carrying two people collided with a silver Mercedes also carrying two people.
The driver of the Mercedes, identified as Marko Niketic, died at the scene of the accident.
Medics transported two passengers, one from each vehicle, to the hospital with critical injuries, and the driver of the Mustang sustained non-critical injuries.
Both vehicles were significantly damaged in the crash, as was a wooden fence along the roadway.
A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
