Narrative
CHICAGO, IL – One person sustained injuries Friday after a four-vehicle collision along the interstate in the Washington Heights area.
The accident happened just before 3 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-57 near South Halsted Street, which is west of Euclid Park and southeast of Oakdale Park.
Police are referring to the incident as a “hit-and-run crash,” but it’s not yet clear which driver fled the scene. They identified two of the four vehicles involved as a semi-truck and a car, both of which left the roadway after colliding.
Medics transported one person to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Officials closed the right lane of I-57 eastbound in the area of the crash while crews worked to clear the scene.
