Narrative

GIBSON CITY, IL – Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler along the highway in southwest Ford County on Thursday.

The crash occurred around 3:16 p.m. along Illinois State Highway 9 in Gibson City. This is about 34 miles east of Bloomington.

Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the accident or the manner of the crash impact. They say that two people from a passenger vehicle were taken via air ambulance to an area hospital with critical injuries.

It’s unclear if the driver of the semi sustained injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
