NEAR GENESEO, IL – A 35-year-old woman lost her life after she crashed her car into a ditch and struck a tree on Route 6 near 1825 East adjacent to Geneseo around 1 a.m. Tuesday. 

The woman, who was later identified as Julia Birman, succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. 

Henry County and Geneseo officials started an investigation but have not confirmed what led Birman to crash her vehicle.
