Narrative
One person was injured, and another succumbed to fatal injuries in a rear-end crash at Oak Rest Road and Illinois Route 16 before 2:45 p.m. on Monday, November 21, in Jersey County, Illinois. Illinois State Police said the driver of Traffic Unit 2 was behind the driver of Traffic Unit 1 and passed Vehicle 1. Then when the driver of Traffic Unit 1 wanted to make a left turn into a field, he cut off the driver of Traffic Unit 2. Traffic Unit 2 hit the back of Traffic Unit 1. The impact led the vehicle of Traffic Unit 2 to overturn into a nearby field. The driver of Traffic Unit 2 was unharmed. However, the passenger of Traffic Unit 1 was hospitalized. The driver of Traffic Unit 1 was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the Traffic Unit 1 driver as 60-year-old Wayne D. Moore of Pisa, Illinois.
