Narrative

CENTRALIA, IL – A South College man sustained serious injuries Tuesday in a southwest Marion County solo crash.

The incident occurred around 3:06 a.m. in the area of 1500 Walnut Hill Road, which is on the southeast outskirts of Centralia.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the victim’s vehicle left the roadway and overturned, entrapping him.

Medics airlifted the driver, identified as Damien Nelson, to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
