Narrative
MCCLEAN CO., IL – One person went to the hospital Thursday after a crash involving an 18-wheeler along the interstate in north-central McClean County.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. on the northbound side of I-55 between Chenoa and Lexington.
Police say the semi crashed after hitting an overpass pillar. A second driver then impacted with debris from the first crash.
Medics transported the truck driver to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
It’s unclear if the second driver sustained injuries in the crash.
Officials closed the right lane of I-55 northbound while crews worked to clear the scene.
