EAST ST. LOUIS, IL – A two-vehicle crash involving a semi truck killed one person Monday morning in East St. Louis.
The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on I-55 near mile marker 3, which is just east the Illinois and Missouri state lane.
Police haven’t shared any details about the crash thus far except to say that it involved an 18-wheeler and an SUV.
Authorities haven’t yet released the identity of the deceased.
Officials closed the interstate in the area of the crash while emergency teams worked at the scene.
